Today was the first day of school!! I went to school at 9 am, was done by 11, took my concussion test, and went running. We did 15 minutes of warmup and met at the bottom of 6th south at the church. We ran 2 800s, 3 600s, and 4 400s, fast on the uphill and equal recovery on the down, no stopping, standing, or walking. I felt pretty good, the weather was a perfect drizzle! I've gotten so much better at hills just by fixing my form. I've gotten so much better at everything now that my form is better, everything I was told in high school was wrong. After the hills I ran a 20 minute cooldown with Kenzie and Brigit and we went back to the WAC. Our spikes are finally here! They're adorable. We're getting our gear packs, swagbags, and foam rollers either tomorrow or Wednesday :) It'll be nice to have sweats BEFORE the season haha :) I iced for 10 minutes with Maddie, Lexie, and Robbie before heading home. Then Brenden signed up for the same Yoga class as me and we went to Yoga. It was great!

Today we went to the WAC for some weights and such. I partnered up with Kenzie for the medicine ball things. We did a lot of other things too, and now I'm really sore. After, I went on a run with Kenzie, Emily, Maddie, and Aisha. We ran to a park where I remember an XC course from my Junior year and took our shoes off. We ran some big laps around the park barefoot, which felt amazing! We put our shoes back on and ran back to the WAC. Now I'm home and getting ready to go to class at 5. Yay college!

Today was a tempo run. We started at the WAC and ran to the same park I ran at yesterday, where the girls ran a 4 mile tempo and the boys did 5. We ran on the road around a bunch of farms 2 miles out and 2 miles back. I think my final time was 28:12. It was a lot hotter today than it's been, I loved the rain the past week. For a cooldown we just ran back to the WAC and I added on with Darian. Now I've got to get ready to go to Yoga with Brenden and Jadyn! Yay!

Today Kenzie and I just went for 3. We ran from our house on Sandhill Rd to a park, where we took our shoes off and ran barefoot in the grass. Then we ran home. Later we all went to lifting and did a lot of stuff. I'm still working on the pullups. Then Kenzie, Lexie, and I hopped in the ice bath for 15 minutes before our team meeting. GEAR! #WolverineWay

Today I had to take care of some stuff with Emily and Savannah, so when we were done with that the three of us ran out 15 minutes from the WAC then went to the track where we met Coach Evans for 2 200s at 5K pace. We hit both of them in 43 seconds. Then I hopped in the ice bath with Kenzie for 15 minutes before heading home.

Today was my first Colleigate race!! Since I haven't been cleared yet I couldn't ride the bus, so I went to Logan with Ivie :) I had to run unattatched, but that was fine. I ran about a mile warmup with the girls, then we did some stretches and drills. We put on our fancy spikes and started. I got a pretty good start and stayed with a pack of my teammates for the first mile. But there was a lot of loose gravel, and it did not feel good. It really slowed me down, and whenever I got to a small grass portion I did a speed change because the grass was a lot better. I didn't know where any of the mile markers were, so that was also pretty tough not knowing where to move and where to be conservative. I thought I had a lot left when I heard another coach telling his athlete "3 minutes left!" so I worked past her and started kicking. I was a little upset with my time, but then my teammates were all saying how the course was longer than what we had been told, plus everyone struggled with the gravel and our spikes, so I felt a lot better. We ran a barefoot cooldown on the grass, then Ivie and I went home. Now I'm just waiting for my roomies to come home!
